bugs and such

As a girl who was raised in a cold climate (generous understatement) -- in which concerns of man vs. nature sound like:

  • Crap, I forgot to plug in my car battery
  • Is that black ice or is the road just wet?
  • What is that moose doing eating out of my garden - get the BB gun!

I am amused by the thoughts that now frequently cross my mind...

  • I wonder what an amoeba looks like to the naked eye?
  • Gecko terd on the counter again, sweet.
  • 90 degrees at midnight, really?
  • Quick, where's the Raid!
  • How did these ants get  [in my pants, inside my computer keyboard, on my bedsheets, etc...]
  • If that mosquito gives me dengue fever...
  • If I tilt the fan just a little more this way...
  • So how hard do you have to squish a cockroach before it's dead?
  • Should I be worried about that diarrhea?

I love it. :) From one dramatic climate and all its' critters to another...

  3. again Jenny... this made me laugh out loud. I love when there can be such humor and validation in a shared experience. I have also wondered what an amoeba looks like to the naked eye... definitely wondered at what point you should be concerned one may be living inside of you. I find it bizarre and extremely annoying that ants choose to make a home in my computer keyboard - never seen that before, what the heck?!. My one addition to your list is... what is this strange bite mark on my stomach, what caused it, and is it still living anywhere where it might get me again?!
