A little shout-out and introduction to my lovely roomate, Aimee! For those of you who witnessed my anxiety about housing before I left Portland, know that she is beyond an answer to my prayers.
Aimee is also a semi-introverted, firstborn West Coaster--who loves to cook, craft, create beautiful spaces, hang out at home, and connect with friends. She has been here for a year and a half and is very much at home in this neighborhood and within Cambodian culture. She speaks Khmer incredibly and is always helping me learn new words, amidst translating at markets and teaching me how to bicycle in this traffic. She also has a deep passion for addressing sex trafficking, and works for a dynamic organization that partners closely with mine.
In just the few short weeks, I have come to SO enjoy her humor, deep insight, and grace for others. I am grateful to call her friend and thrilled that this is such a good fit. I see lots of laughs and verbal processing with her in the year ahead!
